What is currently happening in your area is the highland water pressure zone customers will be experiencing an increase in their water pressure due to a new water tower being placed into service. Water towers are the way we receive a pressurized water line into our homes. Due to the installation of this new tower some homes that already have good water pressure may see it increase to a level that is over the limits allowed by Minnesota Plumbing Code inside the home. Therefore, the city is informing property owners that they may need to install a “pressure reducing valve” on their incoming water line.
